After planning a few corporate events for a company in the late 1990’s, I decided to give wedding planning a try.  A couple of trusting friends let me plan their weddings “pro bono” and I was instantly hooked. So, I created a website and by 2002 was planning weddings full time first at a home office, then Mt. Pleasant and now in beautiful downtown Charleston.  It was a whirlwind to say the least.

 After marriage and two children, I realized I didn’t want to work so incredibly hard, but wanted my business to continue growing.  So, to my amazing luck, I ran into Carrie Glasscock via a mutual friend (thanks Kate Little!) and it was love at first sight!  She was working at the William Aiken House and while she loved every minute of it, she was looking to work at a slower pace and start a family (she just had Becket on May 7th, 2009!).  We have incredible chemistry and work together very well. 

 After an amazing year and a half we decided to bite the bullet and find ourselves a full time assistant.  Up until this point, we always had interns and part time girls helping us out, but it never was quite enough.  The very first name out of Carrie’s mouth was Leigh Douglas because “she can run circles around us Melissa”.  Boy was she right!  In October 2007 we hired Leigh and are living happily ever after….
